Introducing "The Discipline of Balance." Reworked from an earlier version titled "The Pirouette."
Being that bronze is a warm colored metal when polished, is easy to see why I was inspired by its ability to express the warm compassionate side of human energy. Yet there are also the effects of movement (centrifugal force and inertia principles to consider) with regard to their relationship with our human physiology, that is why this figure appears to be elegantly carved by the atmosphere. Hence, there is my interest in dance to also consider, where our heroin is performing in closed position reliver, in the middle of pirouette --to be precise. Perhaps you too may not find it surprising to find out that I have (for as long as I can remember) remained fascinated and moved by the elegance and grace of snow drifts and sand dunes. Notice then (if you will) how every form within this sculpture (elegantly and gracefully) transforms from one to another without ripples and waves in the surface. Besides, tolerating some of those inevitable natural flaws that can not be helped as a result of the metal. This is the result of the arduous process involved with hand filing, hand sanding and polishing seiicon bronze to this highly mirrored finish --as it too reflects the un-likelihood that I will be able to polish many more of these as this process is taking a heavy tole on my physiology. Further more, This expression will adorn the front cover to my up and coming book project! Hence, this $210,000.00 price tag, will stand as non negotiable.
Thank you for your consideration Robert L. Landry
