My artworks, painting in particular spanning over three decades, are a slice out of real life human experience. The work depicts both our natural and spiritual state of being, with psycho-social factors.
A person may find their feelings or social place within these celebratory and exciting expressions personified in red, white and blue acrylic colors with some markers on a linen fabric blend.
My Mother, introduced her children to painting early and other arts in an artistic family in America. I was first published in fifth grade and sold my first sculpture at eleven years of age. After that, I avoided fine arts college programs for fear of their influences to study after the Masters. Wanting to see what was in me naturally and wanting that natural me to come out, I found something in me spiritually coming out instead. I evolved self taught mores during both my pre-college and college arts study. At several schools, I was bumped up to working with Graduate Students and given scholarships as a struggling single parent. My goal was to learn, which sustained me to continue; not chasing money for art nor fame. Each of eight colleges and universities awarded me.
My art has toured the United States and most other nations with various organizations, such as Amherst Society of Artists, Women of Visions, Inc., and currently is in several Private Collections. My art has been used seen on stages of the National Black Theater, Harlem, in libraries, courts/judicial property in Pennsylvania, was seen in films (Drexel University, Arts Garage), on BET TV, George Washington Carver Center, Cornell University Medical Center, OBGYN Wing and many other prominent places.
All my life have I avoided juried art shows, until now. As my art has changed, so have I. So has the world we make art in relationship towards. Art is a very innate part of my life. I paint with out considerations, in general having no preconceived plan of what I am about to paint. I ask God to use me and my art.
