Displaying artwork at Circare
I delight in using color and in moving with the lines and marks that I apply on various surfaces. Sometimes this springs forth in abstract compositions. I try to show a flow that keeps the eye moving around the art piece. Usually bright and decorative colors are my favorites. At other moments I just go with the flow of the energy within me and try to balance colors and shapes which seem to fit.
I use acrylics, hot wax, watercolors and other media in a rather quick manner which helps to keep the feeling of fluidity present. However, I can also spend time testing colors and repainting over them until shapes, textures and colors work better together. I am pleased when a mood or emotion comes forth in the work.
I value work that is bright and fluid because these can bring about an upbeat or calming mood. Using ambiguous shapes hint at the mystery and wonders of life that I perceive.
