I have always felt a strong connection with nature, and that is what my piece "Fractals of the Earth" is all about. Not my connection Specifically, but rather, the interconnections of all things in nature.
The 'mandala' or geometric flower form, which acts as a structural component in the piece, represents the universe in Hindu and Buddhist symbolism. It is also a fractal.
Fractals are repeating patterns that can be observed throughout nature. Seashells, pine cones, snowflakes, and many other objects and natural phenomena, all have this secret language that many people overlook.
It is also representative of the fragility of our world. take one link out of the pattern, and the whole structure would crumble.
