My work alludes to historical representations of the female form. Through arrangement and position, I question how the audience views the female form when represented as an 'art object.' Some of these pieces also explore themes of passage and change. In traditional statuary, drapery exposes or disguises the human body. In these pieces I use drapery to connect or cover the figurative female form to advert attention to the space surrounding the form. This space carries charged meaning that hints at a movement, or action that is taking place.
